Project Mushroom waitlist onboarding has begun! 🍄

We've reached 1,000 backers on Kickstarter! Hurray!! 🍄🍄🍄

This weekend we began sending invite links to every Kickstarter supporter, and that process should now be complete. When you support our Kickstarter at $8 or higher, you'll now get access to a link that will let you skip the waitlist entirely and directly sign up for our Mastodon platform — the first part of our vision for an integrated network of newsletters, podcasts, live events, and support systems for creators around the world focused on justice and action on a warming planet.

We've invited a total of 1,500 people so far — all the Kickstarter supporters and our 500-person creator council — and about 50% of those have already signed in to the platform. We'll be onboarding our paid moderators on Monday, and working with our creator council this week on revising our server rules, establishing moderation policies, and laying the groundwork to begin inviting thousands more people into the space.

We expect to start sending invites from the top of our waitlist by later this week. In the meantime, please support our Kickstarter. There's no billionaire in charge here, so we're raising money as we go to support fair wages for our moderators, development team, and trust & safety experts to keep up our tremendous momentum in line with our shared values.

• We’ll pick four artists and pay them $250 to create a custom sticker — and other merch designs! — for Project Mushroom.
• Kickstarter backers who have pledged $50+ will then vote on their favorite designs, and will select the winning sticker design together.
• We'll send out stickers to EVERY backer when Project Mushroom's Kickstarter meets its goal!
